XC Academy Trophy

Presentation

Following a tender managed by the FIA (Federation International l’Automobile), LifeLive has been appointed to supply and service 20 Cross Cars for the Cross Car Academy Trophy. LifeLive is a company owned by Yannick and Thierry Neuville who is a five-time World Rally Championship runner-up and current official Hyundai WRC driver.

The 22 vehicles (the fleet includes 2 reserves) are equipped with a Yamaha MT07 engine. Selected for competition, this model perfectly meets the performance and power levels (75 HP) stipulated by the FIA technical regulations for the “Junior” Cross Car version.

The season is composed of 5 events across Europe and a pre-season shakedown allows each competitor to make settings and adjustments to their dedicated Cross Car and gain some experience behind the steering wheel.

Each race consists of one warm up session (2 laps), 2 qualifying sessions (4 laps), 3 heats (5 laps), 1 semifinal (6 laps) and 1 final (7 laps) which offer the perfect opportunity for each young driver to spend as much time possible behind the steering wheel and improve their racing experience.

The all-inclusive package for the season is EUR 21’250,- and comprises the following: equipment insurance, consumables such as tires (1 set per event) and fuel, equipment transportation, paddock infrastructure and a mechanic (one per 2 vehicles).

Registration for the FIA Cross Car Academy Trophy is open for 2023 and few of the 20 places available are still to be filled. Interested drivers are invited to contact their ASN (National Sporting Authority) or the FIA Off-Road Department (xc-crosscar@fia.com). An information leaflet is available upon request at info@life-live.be.
